CHASE DAZZLES @ MISS GHANA FASHION NIGHT

The Miss Ghana, BO-16 and MWK fashion night managed to exceed all the pre-event hype it had received.  It had promised a night of panache and excitement, and to every extent they delivered on that promise. The Beach Gardens of the Labadi Beach Hotel played host to the glamorous affair as one after the other, 20 beautiful ladies strutted their stuff on the runway parading some eccentric and truly beautiful hairstyles, jewelry and  outfits courtesy the event’s  line-up of designers.
Given the fact that the day was used to officially outdoor the finalists to the event’s sponsors and other stakeholders, the onus was on all twenty girls to prove to the audience , made up of personalities from the highest echelons of the corporate and showbiz world, that their investments were in the right place.
The show had an intriguing  mix of technique, elegance, poise and subtle traces of afro-centrism,  and was interlaced with impressive performances from comedian David Oscar, Voice Factory 2009 winner Fritz and crooner musical  Nii (Joe), Fritz. Suffice to say there was rarely a dull moment.
Nonetheless, perhaps one of the nights biggest revelations was budding RnB crooner, CHASE. His latest single, “Tell me your name” is receiving remarkable buzz on radio at the moment, and it seems he has an impressive stage craft to compliment his silky voice. His performance on the night was nothing short of mind blowing and managed to get the audience in the groove as the night’s opening act. The young man,, who is signed unto TUMTUM Music, exhibited a cunning ability to woo the female crowd and within minutes of blurting out the very first lines of his single, everyone knew they were in for a delightful ride; and he certainly delivered.  In  the end, he managed to get feet tapping and heads bumping to his every groove, and considering the nature and caliber of his audience, that was no mean achievement for the musician, whom most have tipped to be the next big sensation on the music scene.According to rumours making the rounds, his much hyped debut album is set for release in November this way.
Anyways back to Miss Ghana; and last weekend’s event is set to herald a number of other entertaining and interactive outdoor events in the run up to the wildly anticipated finale.
